National Alliance on Mental Illness of Acadiana (NAMI), Program and Education Director, Karen Dubois, will be speaking on the topic of mental illness, focusing on the challenges faced in our area and the state of Louisiana. This includes how we can better educate and help change the stigma surrounding mental illness. She will be discussing the misconceptions of mental illness, and what resources are offered to those with mental illness. She will speak from her own personal experiences, as she has worked in this field for many years, educating and raising awareness. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
